About Me

I'm Brooke, I paint landscapes and animals in oil and watercolor.

 

I'm from London, Ontario and moved around growing up, living in Milton, Winnipeg and Ottawa before settling in Calgary. My home and community is very important to me and I love being with my family and friends and exploring around Alberta and the Rocky Mountains. My work is inspired by symbolism and the beauty of nature. I almost always use bold colours, and paint positive and uplifting images. My subject matters are diverse, ranging from abstract landscapes to the celestial and symbolic to nature and animals.

Mythology, philosophy and environmentalism inspire my projects. I have three children, a cat and a great dane. When I am not painting I am usually teaching yoga, writing in my notebooks or adventuring out in the mountains.

I have a Bachelor of Communication Studies from the University of Calgary, and a Journalism Arts Diploma.
